The company was founded in 1992 by Michael Grainger after 30 years service with British Telecom. Since starting, Ely Telecom has gone from strength to strength serving small companies to large international companies.

Ely Telecom is a corporate member of BICSI, a not-for-profit telecommunications association whose range of qualifications is the standard to which the industry assesses the quality of those who install structured cabling systems. In addition to this, its staff are BICSI qualified and therefore fully up to date with all the relevant standards and best practice issues affecting the telecoms industry.
