Installation of 26x IP Observation Cameras

The University Centre required an observation system installed throughout their building. 1st Connect Networks asked us to install both the data cabling and cameras within the site, with them providing the programming tools and commissioning of the equipment.

The building itself was quite a challenge to cable, its structure is of solid concrete with small ceiling voids and as most of the corridors are open to the public and students concealing the cabling was a high priority. We managed to source some coloured plastic trunking which matched the concrete walls and black aluminium window frames within the site, once attached to the wall in corners and along window ledges the trunking blended into the building very well as was very inconspicuous.

The cabling was routed back to one central secure room where the data rack was installed and switch gear connected to the cameras. Each camera is given its own IP address, then through the programming tool the site staff can monitor the images from the cameras, these images are full colour, very good quality and as they are digital can be freeze framed to give a snap shot print out.
